In 2026, MINI celebrates an important milestone: 25 years since production of the modern MINI began under BMW Group. What started as the revival of an automotive icon has evolved into one of the most recognizable and character-driven brands on the road today.

By the 1960s, the Mini Cooper had already cemented its place in motorsport history with multiple Monte Carlo Rally victories, proving that small cars could deliver serious driving excitement.

When BMW Group introduced the first modern MINI in 2001, the challenge was clear: preserve the spirit of the original while bringing the brand into a new era. The result was a car that stayed true to its roots while introducing modern engineering, premium quality, and the now-famous go-kart feeling that continues to define MINI today.
